Poor start expected

Hello and welcome back to my ntfc blog. Hopefully you will remember my previous blog in which I explained how I thought The cobblers would struggle this season. So far we have struggled to score goals and defend and I'm not surprised. We lost Carlisle to retirement and Langmead is out for several months to. Then we had bayo leave and yes I have moved on but we need someone to step up to the plate and replace him because it hasn't happened so far. Blyth has done OK and I'm happy he has extended his loan with us until November. Platt played his best game so far for the club against Scunthorpe United. I'm still not a big fan of Platt but I will stick by  him and I wont grumble or boo him like I saw some fans do  to him on Saturday. I still think were missing a good striker that we can call our own. I'm pretty sure there is some good free agents out there Marlon king has been mentioned by some fans but would he move to league 2? I doubt it. I'm gonna stick to my prediction that we will finish mid table this season.  We have enough to finish there but this season we are rebuilding and then next season we will push on. You never know if this squad suddenly finds some decent form we could snatch a playoff place but I doubt it. If you enjoy my blog make sure to follow me on twitter @joooshtv.

Football: Cobblers struggling to find the right players

Captain langmead ruled out for further three months
I have been supporting Northampton Town FC for many years now and I cant quite believe how bad things have gone this summer in terms of transfers . The squad was already very small in my opinion we even had a forward playing right back last season for a period of time Lewis Wilson Who has now been released. What I'm worried about is if we sign any players now will they settle in quick enough for the first game of the season in two weeks time. The other dilemma on my mind is who will be playing centre back now that Langmead has been ruled out for a further three months. We looked very weak in my opinion towards the end of last season when Langers was not fit and that was a big reason why we ended up in the playoffs instead of automatic promotion. Darren Purse has been on trial  with the cobblers and he would the perfect fit for them solid defender with plenty of experience and a leader a respectable replacement for Clarke Carlisle you would think but just like all the other trialists Aidy is waiting and waiting and before you know it another league two club will come along and snatch them. Not only is the defencive situation looking a problem but also the attackers who will get the goals?  O'Donovan is the only one I see there who I feel could score a decent amount of goals. Alex Nicholls won't be back for a while yet and it might take him a while to find his form again after that horrific injury. AB said he had a decent shortlist of players he was interested in. I honestly feel they have gone elsewhere. He would of signed the players he wanted by now. This seems to be a big topic between Cobblers fans at the moment on Facebook and Twitter. All I will say is if you cant keep clean sheets and your not scoring enough goals then that spells trouble and unless Northampton act quickly then that could be the case for them this season.
